New release of QUIRINALE 3D VR

The new release of QUIRINALE 3D VR software, available for both Windows and Mac, is online. This new update allows you to virtually navigate and discover three other rooms of the Quirinal's main floor: "Sala delle Stagioni", Sala del Diluvio" and "Sala dei Bussolanti”. The navigation can be done in desktop or immersive mode by connecting Oculus Rift viewers to your computer.

Digital Lighthouse at #LuBeC2016 for discussing about the technology at the service of cultural heritage

Digital Lighthouse participates in the 2016 edition of LuBeC "Lucca Cultural Heritage", held on the 13th and 14th of October 2016 at the Real Collegio of Lucca. LuBeC aims to be, since 2005, a key event on technologies applied to tourism enhancement, cultural heritage and territorial marketing, providing training activities, debates, exhibition spaces and creative challenges in realizing new projects in the fields of culture. Digital Lighthouse will participate in the workshop "Technology for art and culture: instructions for use", scheduled on the 14th of October at 2.45 p.m., with a speech entitled "From survey to immersive virtual tour. Red Bull Airlines 3D VR: the thrill of slackline in virtual reality

Red Bull Airlines is an international freestyle slackline competition to be held on the 8th of October in Catania: the best representatives of this discipline, from every corner of the planet, will perform by balancing on a 200 meters long flat webbing, suspended among the historical buildings of Piazza Bellini. For this occasion, Digital Lighthouse has created an app called "Red Bull Airlines 3D VR", that is a virtual reality product to allow Catania’s audience to experience the thrill of being a true slackliner. This initiative is part of the promotional and storytelling actions developed by the company for the starting of the event. In addition to the app production, Digital Lighthouse has carried out the video production and some promotional activities through guerrilla marketing on board of the Red Bull Sugga, equipped to view videos and to offer the opportunity of an immersive experience of the "Red bull Airlines 3D VR" with Samsung Gear VR viewers, as well as the storytelling of the event.

At the TECHNOLOGYforALL Forum, the immersive reality solutions made in Digital Lighthouse

Digital Lighthouse participates in the third edition of the TECHNOLOGYforALL Forum, an event dedicated to the technologies applied to the territory, the environment, cultural heritage and smart cities, to be held in Rome from the 4th to the 6th of October 2016. The company, which participates in the event together with Geocart, will present, during the range of activities that are planned, the innovative solutions of virtual and immersive reality that have been implemented and the new models of cultural heritage fruition. This is the program of the activities: October 4, 2016, from 2 p.m. - Villa of Maxentius between the second and third mile of the Via Appia Antica, Rome During the on-field workshop, visitors can get to know the integrated methodology of survey with laser scanner and photo cameras applied by company technicians to an area of the Circus of Maxentius and the remains of the Tower of Carceres. The data will then be processed in order to create a product for virtual navigation with immersive viewers. October 5, 2016, 12 p.m. – Meeting room BIS of National Central Library of Rome Ample space will be devoted to the presentation of models and innovative methods for the fruition of artistic and cultural heritage, starting from the integration of 3D survey methodologies with advanced sensors and data processing techniques. During the workshop "From survey to immersive virtual tour: new methods for cultural heritage fruition", Digital Lighthouse technicians will illustrate the result of the processing of the data acquired during the provided on-field workshop. In particular, they will show the digital reconstruction of the ruin of one of the towers of Carceres, a product destined to virtual navigation with immersive viewers. Visitors will be given the chance to browse the site in its current state and in its digitally reconstructed version. At MEF2016 a film set to rediscover the treasures of Matera in virtual mode

Digital Lighthouse participates at the seventh edition of Matera è Fiera, an exhibition scheduled from August 31 to September 4, 2016, in Matera, the European Capital of Culture 2019. The company, with a large stand set up like a real film set, will offer its visitors the opportunity to virtually visit some of the most important treasures of the Italian cultural heritage. Among all, the Main Floor (Piano Nobile) of the Palazzo del Quirinale and the Crypt of the Original Sin, which can be experienced and rediscovered through digital solutions, implemented and optimized for the immersive experience, based on accurate 3D reconstructions. Among other initiatives proposed by Digital Lighthouse staff during the event, visitors will have the chance to become better acquainted with the fascinating world of film production and post production, through close encounters with the staff and the technical equipment on display.
